Making the Switch
Well, we're really excited about our new Web site, to be launched soon. It's been a long time coming and we'll be really glad when it's up and running. No real updates besides that. Stay tuned for the finished product.

Hilary + Andrew: Manti in the Fall

This couple was so fun to work with. Not to mention that I LOVE their colors (I did the same colors for my own wedding). Here are just a few snapshots of the flowers. The flowers bloomed a little bit on their 6+ hours of trips here and there, but they are still beautiful!

The difference
Here are two shots from the Whitham Wedding in May. What a difference a good photographer makes! (Way better than my point-n-shoot snapshots!) These gorgeous pictures are courtesy of Paul Johnston Photography.

Flower of the Week: Solidago
Botanical Name: Solidago
Type of flower: Filler flower
Common Colors: Yellow
Vase Life: 7 to 10 days
Availability: May through October
Why you should love Solidago: It is a wonderful filler flower and a great way to brighten an arrangement. The plant actually has medicinal properties. It is one of my favorite fillers because it looks great with practically everything. Add some life to your arrangement!

Flower of the Week: Stephanotis
Botanical Name: Stephanotis floribunda
Type of flower: Specialty flower
Common Colors: White
Vase Life: 1 to 4 days
Availability: Year-round
Why you should love Stephanotis: They smell FANTASTIC - similar to the fragrance of Plumeria (found in Hawaii). Although they require a little special care in wiring and use, they work great for boutonnieres, corsages, and wedding designs. They are small flowers, typically pictured with pearls or other gems in the center - a gorgeous choice for adding small white accents and wonderful fragrance to a bouquet.
